Career Journals
PODIATRIST- I thought that the benefits of being a podiatrist would be interesting to add to the portfolio, even though I have no interest of becoming a podiatrist in my future. I took a lot of time to learn about a podiatrist and the different tasks that they go through on a daily routine. The projected growth for this job is 64,000 podiatrist and a job is waiting for anyone who finishes with the right degree. In this class I have learned how diabetes effects the circulation in the lower extremities which is where a podiatrist focuses their attention on.
ENDOCRINOLOGIST- I thought it would be a different experience to learn and help people who would need help with any hormones that are given off by the glands in the body. I didn't know much about a endocrinologist, but after doing my research I feel this would be a good career for anyone to get into. The growth for this field of study is growing as well; people around need help with hormones in the body and a job is available once you are graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree. In this class I was able to learn the different body systems and one was the endocrine system. I know the different functions of the glands that produce the hormones in the body and what may be affected if a hormone is not produced.
PHLEBOTOMIST- I felt this career was the best done out of all my career journals and deserved a spot in the portfolio. Also, I believe this would be an interesting career to be associated with because it is a growing career with a high demand of new phlebotomist. Any person that comes out with an associated degree in laboratory technology will be guaranteed a job once they graduate. A few skills that this class has taught me that would help any person wanting to pursue this career is the use of different lab equipment properly. I have learned how to use a syringe, centrifuge, and other lab equipment that a phlebotomist uses on a daily basis. This is why I believe that this career journal deserved to be in my portfolio because I learned the most about his career.
